Back yard play date - photo heavy!

Somewhat of a spontaneous play date developed in my back yard today! We've had cool temps, and clouds and / or rain for ages, and today was sunny, bright and warm! (WarmER, I guess I should say!) We are due for another 6 days of the cool cloudy stuff, so everyone I talked with wanted to be outdoors today!

First, I set up my Agility obstacles: 5 jumps, 1 hoop jump, teeter, and weave poles.

"I know what all this means!" = Willy

    Willy and Tasha

    Tasha

Sarah came over with her 3 year old Mini Schnauzer x Bichon, Maybe, and her 4 month old Papillon, Piper. You can see Marlin dead center, ha haa. He and my other 4 had to go back in the house as they don't do Agility.

Dad was inside with those 4, and oh the barking and yowling to be outside with Mum! Marlin was almost baying like a beagle he was SO beside himself!

After about an hour, we stopped Agility and other folks arrived.

    LOTS more photos to come!

Freedom I love the way you set up the agility equipment. It gave me the idea to do the same to give my wee pooch the extra exercise. Of course my grass is nowhere as green as yours, we're just starting to see a bit here and there.

Heidi has an almost 1 year old Llasa Apso named Maggie, and Barbara has 12 year old Bilou the Bichon, as well as 9 year old Lily, a Maltese. Of course my 4 came out again. Dad eventually joined us as well.

From left: Maggie, Willy, Marlin with one foot up, ha haa. Behind, you can see Maybe.

Sarah took out her bag of treats (hot dog!) and found herself SURROUNDED!!! This is the FUN of it all, and why we do these things, you know?! You can likely spot my chow hound, Marlin Darlin' on the right. I think the others, from the left, are Lacey, Piper, and that is Willy sitting pretty with his back to the camera. Maggie is down front, almost out of the shot.

Maybe can dance and hop, and demonstrated for us in this video. You will see her "sister," Piper prance across as well, ha haaa!

    Maggie

    Piper gives kisses to Barbara!

    Sugar

Lily takes a break and sits with her mom, Barbara, while Heidi looks on.

So of course, Tasha wanted up in my lap, ha haa. When her friends first arrived, Tasha was SO excited, she grabbed the yellow duck toy and blitzed around the yard, circles, figure 8's, round and round!

Maybe gave me a few photo ops!

In the back you see Willy and Piper.

    Maggie in profile.

Too bad the tree shadow makes these 2 a bit dark.

With so much excitement, Willy took a break under the bench!

    A short snooze . . .

And he was ready to go again.

Darlin' Marlin takes a stroll through the toys

    "Hi Mum!!"

Tasha wanted up in my lap (again), and when I declined . . .

She went into Bichon Wave mode, ha haa. I didn't stop to switch the camera to video, so you get to see a series of stills of her doing the wave!

    "Take Off!"

Pause to bark at me as I clearly was NOT listening!

Marlin came over to see what the problem was

    Marlin

    Willy

Tasha finally went to sit across from me.

This is hard to see due to the shadows, but Lacey is in the chair and Bilou is beneath!

    Just a few more!

Setting up courses is the hardest part, for me, as I've only just started Agility! This was pretty basic, without moving anything we could do 4 different courses, which was nice.

Thanks for the complement re the lawn! I've been working on it for 6 weeks already! GrubX, Milorganite, Pelletized Lime, and of course, Grass Seed! All has been applied AT LEAST TWICE already!

Anyone who remembers, the veggie garden is now gone, last year it was way too much work for me, so I have seeded that section in.

Loved seeing all the Fluffs and all of their friends too. I'm partial to Lhasas - I have 3 at RB, and of course Maltese is one of my favorite breeds too! It looks like it was a fun filled and enjoyable afternoon for all. Bet those Fluffs all slept good after a day of play in the sun!

Thank you for stopping in, Barry!

I always confuse the Llasa Apso and the Shih Tzu. Heidi told us the Shih Tzu nose is quite short; the Llasa Apso nose is longer, more pronounced.
