CBS Cancels "Two and a Half Men"

I really like (or maybe I should say liked) "Two and a Half Men" for the most part. I felt like the show went in sort of a strange direction when Charlie got engaged, but by and large it's been one of my favorite TV shows. I'm disappointed in CBS' decision to cancel the show outright -- I think that's unfair to the rest of the cast and the production staff. They're losing their jobs over Charlie Sheen's remarks.

So - CBS - could we strike a compromise here? Could you take Charlie Sheen off the show and leave the rest alone? I really enjoy Jon Cryer and the rest of the cast, and they're more than capable of getting the job done.

I've been thinking about that. As egotistical, vain, obnoxious as he is, I do think Charlie Sheen made the show. I don't think he can be replaced. It's about the only show that makes me LOL.
I feel awful for the other cast members too. I think I read that Sheen knows his lines and arrives on time etc. He just doesn't know when to keep his big mouth shut. He made a cruel remark on the radio about the creators first name too, which added a gazillion more points downward on my Sheen ladder.

I rarely watch it but I think you are right that the show wouldn't be the same without Charlie Sheen. He has ruined it for everyone with his antics. People just don't want to see the crap that he has been up to lately. He pretty much disgusts me.

The world of comedy did very well before CS, and will continue to do very well without him. Everybody is pretty sick of this idiot's nonsense any more. He sure is a far cry from his father, isn't he????

    ETA:
I've never so much as watched even one episode, tho I have heard that it's funny. It's a shame that CS had to ruin it for everybody tho - cast and fans alike.

I just feel bad for CS. he's a very sick man and needs a lot of help and he hasn't even hit rock bottom yet. I can't even bring myself to hate him... he's just.. sad.

he's really off his rocker now.

I feel bad for the other characters. CBS should start up a new show... kind of a spin off but I don't think it could still be Two and A Half Men anymore.

Ole Charlie seems like a egomaniac to me. He now wants 3 mil an episode to do the show and seems to think he will not only get it, the show will be back next season. He is drunk on himself and his eyes creep me out. He needs help for sure.

He seems, from what little I have read, to be exhibiting classic Narcissistic Personality Disorder - see here and not only is it sad, it's looking doubtful that he'll get psychiatric help at this point, after all, he doesn't need it, according to him.

It's sad that it is all playing out in the media, for his children's sake in the future.

from the blog "Being Catholic-Really" by Pam Spano

In all of the Charlie Sheen controversy I've been wondering about his family...

"The Heartbreak of Charlie Sheen's Dad"

I didn't want to write about Charlie Sheen. I don't watch his show, I don't care about the man and what he does. But then I remembered seeing an interview with his father and brothers and suddenly I felt a bit of, I don't know, compassion perhaps, for his children and his siblings, but mostly his father.

In an interview I saw years ago, I remember Martin Sheen talking about his Catholic faith. He took his name from Bishop Fulton Sheen. When the interviewer asked if the rest of the family was also Catholic, one of the boys (I don't remember which one) said, "Dad is Catholic enough for all of us!"

Apparently he isn't. Watching your son spin out of control in the public eye has to be the most excruciating thing a parent can go through. I keep waiting to hear the news that they found Charlie Sheen dead, his glassy stare gazing up at some very expensive plumbing in a high end hotel bathroom, the goddesses in the other room weeping because their fifteen minutes of fame will be up shortly.

My husband and I try to lead our family by quiet example (and the occasional heated verbal viewpoint!), but our children are not out of control like Charlie Sheen. But if they were, as a Catholic, I would be on my knees in a demanding prayer of all the saints and God to save my child!

I hope Martin Sheen finds comfort in his faith. I hope through prayer, that he finds the tools he needs to save his son and heal his family. From one parent to another, I will pray for him.

Actress associated with Sheen hospitalized in Chicago

This is the crowd he associates with?!

    From the Chicago Tribune...
The Charlie Sheen saga again touched Chicago on Monday when adult film star Kacey Jordan — who told "Good Morning America" that she witnessed a 36-hour drug- and alcohol-fueled party at Sheen's home in January — was taken from her room at the Peninsula hotel on the Magnificent Mile to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a call was made to a suicide hotline, Chicago police said.

Officers said Jordan (real name Courtney Roskop) was "dazed" when they found her in her hotel room typing on her computer. Police said she had prescription pills and a glass of Jack Daniels at her side.

It's unclear who made the call to the hotline. Jordan had posted alcohol- and drug-related comments on her Twitter page earlier that day.

"i've over done it …," Jordan tweeted. "the more i do … i keep passing out."

The 22-year-old Jordan, who was not charged, also mentioned Sheen, who is bringing his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour to the Chicago Theatre next month, on Twitter on Monday. "those 16 hours i was with charlie sheen … messed me up," she tweeted.

Jordan initially told officers the tweets were "a publicity stunt," police said, but then allegedly added, "I wish I could overdose now."

The tweets continued the next morning from the hospital, where she appeared to be in more stable condition. "I'm Soooo bored in this hospital bed!" she wrote. "I wanna have someone save me."
