    Now how did that happen?!

Let me set this story up for ya guys. Last night, I'm sittin on my bed watching TV with Dustin when all of a sudden my little brother is in there screaming saying MY DOG PUT A GASH IN KATIE'S SIDE. I wasn't really concerned cuz he over reacts all the time I figured it was a little cut or something so at the commercial I got up and went to see Katie.

OH MY GOD!!! It look like someone tried to skin her, there was about a 3 inch spot on her side that had been rippped back! We don't know how it happened (we think she did it underneth the deck on a stray nail sticking out or something. She likes to sleep under there) but we know Bull didn't do it. We called our vet's emergancy service and they paged the vet for us. He said that as long as she wasn't bleeding (she wasn't) then she would be good til this morning, just bring her in first thing. So we cleaned her up and put some antiboitic cream on it. After taking all the kids to school we were off to the vet's office (30 minute drive) to get her stitched up. Now we are sitting here waiting for them to call and tell us how she is (we know she'll be ok but ya know)

She never acted like it hurt her but once. We just hope she doesn't have to where the big funnel collar but she prolly will cuz she kept licking the wound. But oh well she'll be funnel head for a while then.

    Ok I'm done rambling now.

Katie's fine. She got about 15-20 stitches though. No funnel head for her (sometimes I wish she did cuz she licks at her stitches from time to time). We still don't know how that happened though!

Glad to hear it!!! Lots of chew toys may help her keep distracted from licking her stitches.

I'm glad she is doing better! It reminds me of a story that happened to me: Raustyk & my ex b/f's dog used to run around in circles. Well Raustyk could never catch Mylo so she would always try to catch him by running through the middle. She must of been really mad at not catching him because when she finnally got him she held on and ripped open his side too. Which looked exactally like your dogs gash. It healed fine & he was ok but I was nervous at first.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

She's better now, she got her stitches out today and bounced around the car. (which is unusual cuz she usually so good in the car)
