Snowstorm in Denmark - with pics

We had quite a bit of snow saturday night, so it looked beautiful sunday morning. Fister still wanted to go down in the yard, but as he stepped out in it, he changed his mind. LOL! This first picture is taken out of my kitchen window.

    Bicycle with room for groceries.

And this out of a window to the street.

I wanted to go for walk at the churchyard. Here’s a view towards John’s grave.

The path going up to John’s grave.

    John’s grave covered in snow.

    Branches were heavy with snow.

I met Majbritt who was walking Micky, he belongs to another woman in the building.

    Micky close-up.

    ... more to come

    A main path

The wall by the old part of the churchyard

    Statue with snowhat and scarf.

On top what we already got, this afternoon, more snow came down, in fact we have a snow storm which is moving west now. Police have advised people not to drive unless it’s absolutely neccesary. One man had heart problems and the military had to go in front of the ambulance to clear the road. They later said he’s doing OK.

Some schools are closed and I’m sure the kids are thrilled about that.

It's amazing how black and white pictures look after a fresh snowfall! Very nice.

It looks very similar here these days. Such a wonderful churchyard in the snow is special.

Randi, those pictures are beautiful! Did you have snow in early January too, like we did here in the UK?

It took a couple of pictures before I realized these are color photos, not sepia-toned black and white. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

    Thanks for your comments.

Miss Z, yes we got quite a bit in January too, and it was freezing cold! I think many parts of Europe got their fair share this year! They have run out of salt and is now only clearing narrow walking paths. I normally cycle when I do my shopping, but that's out of the question. I've had enough for this winter!

Richard, those bicycles became very popular here about 15-20 years ago, people put their kids and groceries in them, and they're actually very easy to manuevre around. I once borrowed one to take Fister to the vet. The model on the picture is a little smarter than the common one, called "Christiania bike".

This is the classic one: http://www.christianiabikes.com/dansk/dk_main.htm

Randi, those are terrific pictures. It looks soooo cold!!

The statue looks as though he is wearing an ermine hat and cape. He still looks cold though.

I would imagine about now that you have said ENOUGH snow! It must be difficult for you to get out and do your shopping.

I hear you on that one!

It's currently snowing here - I wonder if it is the same storm you had that has blown over the Channel? Seems to be settling fast - looks like I'll be fetching out wellington boots again for school tomorrow!
