Milkman wont walk

I have Milkman, a male kitten whos about 4 months old now, who was from a inbreed litter and he was the biggest and seemed perfectly normal until the kittens started to walk and he fell a bit behind the rest of the kittens(i have his sisters from the litter as well) but could walk well enough and then when he seem to catch up suddenly he began to use less and less of his hind legs and could barely drag himself around. The couple i got him from was going to put him down and i was heart broken. I just assumed he was just getting beaten out for food by the two other stronger kittens so i brought them home and i made sure he got his own food and again he started to get better and with vitamins he began to walk again(very unstable but he could pull himself up and take a few steps)
I was so happy but then he started to do it all over again. He'd rather roll around. I bought more vitamins and started doing a bit of leg exercises and did little helped along walks
Does anyone know any explanation? He isnt sick hes healthy and i cant figure out why he keeps deciding against walking. Both of his sisters are perfectly healthy.
He's the cutest thing and has stolen my heart all i want is for him to get better. (If not i wont be to sad i'll love him all the same)

It sounds like a neurological issue, not a behavioral one. I'd get him to the vet for a thorough exam, to be certain. He may be a CH kitty - this can happen if the mother cat has distemper, but it's best to be sure. CH = Cerebral Hypoplasia

Yes, I agree w/Karen. It does sound like it could be CH. I have a CH girl and w/lots of love and some extra attention, your CH baby (if that's what it is) can live a long, happy life. Good luck at the vet's and please keep us posted.

Ive heard a lot of posts about CH and im kinda relieved because everytime i looked up his symptoms it came up with Diabetes
I'm trying to save up the cash for a vet exam (freshly moved out) but ive been taking extra hours lately
My boyfriend who is in engineering classes is trying to think up designs for things that will help build muscles in his hind legs

I'll be sure to keep posting about him

An idea - see if the vet who does the free checkup will take payments if s/he wants to see Milkman for a more in-depth exam. Also, Google Care Credit - they do have a plan for animals, and last time I checked, the loan was interest-free if you paid it back in 3 months or less.

I have an 8 month old CH kitten and as he has gotten older his muscles have developed more and it is easier for him to get around now. (He even terrifies me by trying to climb up and down the stairs ) So if it is CH, there is no reason that Milkman won't live a happy and healthy life.
