Some people should not have children.

Yesterday, on my way to volunteer, I stopped to get gas. When I parked a young, pretty blonde woman was walking out of the store. I noticed she was on the other side of the pumps on the next island. No big deal, didn't think much of it.
Then I hear her yell (at the top of her lungs) STOP!!! So I look, thinking someone is about to run into her with their car or something. There isn't another car around. Then she is backing out and I see a little girl (probably around 2 years old) in a car seat in the back seat of the car. So my first gripe is she left that little girl in the car to go inside the store. That is illegal!!!
Then as she is backing out, all the windows on the car are down. I hear the mom say "stop doing stupid
sh!#". Then she says F#@k. And as she pulls out I hear her say "do you not understand the word stop".
I couldn't believe it! That poor little girl is probably talked to like this on a daily basis. I understand kids can be difficult, I worked in day care for 12 years. But to be cursing and talking like this to a young child just made me sick!
The rest of the day I was in a foul mood. I couldn't help but think there are people like this out there that have children while there are wonderful people that would make great parents that cannot have children. It just isn't right.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

You're so right Cindy. I see it in the stores and malls just about every time I go to one.

Another good reason to have to have a license. You need one to drive, to hunt, to fish, to get married. Wouldn't it be great to be able to somehow put all women through a course in parenting - before they had any kids. Of course that will never happen, and women will continue to act recklessly and keep having children whether they're ready or even want any..

Like I've said before - it's too late to close the barn door after the horse has already gotten out. , so you'd better step up and act responsibly.

Unfortunately there are just as many that should not have pets either.

I went to the supermarket (the Jewel, for those of you in the Chicago area) for a couple things for supper. Sunday, 5 PM, the Jewel is a busy place. In the frozen vegetable aisle I see a child of maybe 3 - by himself. I look around - where is his adult? There are a lot of people in the Jewel! I was trying to keep one eye on the child and the other peeled for whoever he was with when his mom came around the corner, pushing her basket and chatting on her cell phone. I was relieved and then I was p***ed that her cell phone conversation was more important than her child! AARRGH!

The "lady" that lives next door likes to make phone calls while sitting in the back yard, smoking a cigarette while nursing her son.

I have never heard more obscene, pornographic language in my life.

When I think of all the wonderful folks out there who yearn to have children, but can't........

These stories of these irresponsible jerks just make me sick!! Can we not get tighter laws on people like this??? They're getting away with this type of child abuse. These children will be severely messed up in later life. So frustrating!!!

I agree that there should be more resources to educate people on how to treat their children. I think that communities should offer free parenting classes to pregnant women and their partner. Little kids do not have the ability to act like adults. You would think that at least the parents would realize this and not revert to behavior less mature than their kids! I've actually witnessed parents yelling at their kids to stop yelling, etc.

Maybe instead of encouraging abortion, not that anybody here is doing so, more should be done to encourage these unwanted, abused children to be put up for addoption.
