help with Dog Behavior!!! PLZ!!!

I have a dog name Cassie who is 5 years old. Every time I come home or someone comes to visit she has a high pitch squeak she does and I try to get her to stop but no matter what I do I cant get her not to do it. It is ear piercing! PLEASE HELP!

You need to train her out of it. Everyone in the household has to be in on the training. When you first come home, ignore her. I mean it - no yelling at her not to bark, no telling her good dog, or bad dog, just walk past her. Only when she is calm, then you can pay attention to her, but do so calmly, praise her and give her a treat, pet her. Let her learn that arrivals are nothing to get excited about. You can practice, by going our for a short time - ten minutes, coming in, and waiting until she is calm. You can do that several time, so she begins to get the picture, but you then have to follow through. EVERY time someone arrives, they have to ignore her until she's calm.

Your dog's behavior is completely natural in the wild, picture those documentaries with pups crying out and greeting returning pack members - but you can train her out of this. Have you done any obedience training with her?

My dog does something like that when my brother comes over, we call it the "happy howl", lol
