He's peeing again...HELP!!!

Well here we go again. Just when I thought that I had the chair cleaned up he started peeing on it again. I caught him one time and got him with the spray bottle of water but he went again on it today. I need help on keeping him away from it because I don't always catch him in the act. Has anyone had success with the sprays to keep them away from things? His problem is behavioral according to the vet. I'm his 3rd owner and I don't want to give up on him. I just need advice before my bf finds out about his chair...he will be really mad. Also, Clyde has not be pooping in the box lately either. Nothing has really changed lately either. I'm so frustrated. I need a Cat Whisperer or something like "it's me or the dog" but for cats. I've taken him to the vet so much and i've spent a lot of money diagnosing his IBD and putting him on prescription food. I've gotten the loose stools taken care of. I have 2 litter boxes with cat attract litter and I scoop them everyday. HELP!!!

I'm thinking about taking him to a 3rd vet...the problem is they don't find anything physically wrong and tell me it's behavioral...the pooping anyway. The peeing started when I moved and had stopped once he got more relaxed in his new home. He just has something against that chair for some reason. The poop is one thing but I'm having a hard time with the peeing again. It's frustrating to spend a couple hundred dollars to have him tested for a UTI that he doesn't have. I'm willing to try anything!!!! By the way I need to be discreet in my methods because I have to hide what's going on with the chair or my bf will lose it. He's already having a hard time with him pooping everywhere and it would be the icing on the cake! It's his house so I can't really blame him.

I had a pee-r in my house. Buddy was so confused, after being in 7 homes in the past year, that he started peeing to make himself known. After ruling out a UTI, the vet determined it was behavioral because of his history. I had 3 choices...(1) Feliway spray and isolation in the bathroom at night; (2) drugs that would make him cranky and lethargic or ; (3) Euthanisia DEFINITELY NOT AND OPTION.

I have to say the Feliway works very well. I tried the drugs on one of my RB cats years ago and it made him cranky and lethargic, so I don't want to put Buddy through that.

Feliway might be the way to go. The spray can of Feliway is about $30 but well worth it. The plug-in diffuser is a little bit more.

Good luck with your kitty. Please don't give up on him. Maybe he just needs a bigger litter box, perhaps a large, deep bin might be the way to go. That's what I've done. 3 large 16 quart bins is the equivalent to 2 boxes each. Plus I have another litterbox in my bathroom.

Have you tried to put a Plastic Tarp in the chair?? Maybe your baby would not go on that.. Please dont give up..

Well I've tried the Feliway and it doesn't seem to do much. Right now he is only peeing on that one upholstered chair that of course does not have removeable cushions!! I don't have a plastic tarp on it because I didn't want my bf to know what happened. It's his chair and he would flip out if he knew. I do have a box on the chair which had deterred him from getting on the chair but now he's getting bold and peeing next to the box. The weird thing is that I've only caught him 1 out of 3 times this week. He stays in the downstairs when we aren't home so he's only out when someone is home. I try to make sure he's downstairs with me when I'm home since he like to jump on the counters sometimes too.

It's getting to the point where he isn't going to be allowed upstairs anymore. I just found out my mom's vet is also a behaviorist so I'm thinking about taking him there and seeing what else I can do. I love him and I don't want to get rid of him. I don't know what he has against that chair! He's the only pet and no other pets have been on that chair.

Has anyone tried any of the sprays to keep cats away?

Oppss did you say this is your boyfriend's chair.. Well it could be your cat has it out for your BF.. I would try to cover the chair or keep the cat elsewhere.. Your BF will find out sooner or later due to the oder & wetness.. Any Pics of your cat??

Well luckily it's in the living room that we don't use. Actually all the furniture is his since it's his house. We just moved in with him. He actually gets along well with my bf and even cuddles up with him on the couch downstairs.

I've been treating the chair with anti-icky poo and thought that I had finally gotten it cleaned up and then he peed on it again! When he goes out of town in a couple weeks I'm going to have someone come out and clean the chair professionally in the hopes that Clyde will finally leave it alone!!

I just don't know why he's doing this....I thought he got it out of his system a couple months ago while he was still adjusting to the move.
