Uncle Passed Away

We got a phone call this morning from my Aunt Maxine who told Mom that Uncle Elwood(Dad's brother)passed away last night,he was 85.he had got up to use the washroom and was returning when he possibly had a heart attack,his roommate called for help but it was too late.He had just been put in a nursing home on Wednesday,he thought for just a few days to give Aunt Maxine a chance ot rest,that wasn't it,she couldn't look after him properly could dress or get washed without help,she is a wheelchair and overweight.Mom thinks it was because of a broken heart,combining going into a nursing home and their home being put for sale,Mom won't tell her thst,not wanting to get her upset.She will probably go into a retirement home,can't live on her own anymore,can drive but can't get the wheelchair out by herself.There is no funeral or visitation,he didn't want any,will be buried in a cemetery close to their home.I am now down to 1 Uncle, Everett who is married to mom's sister just lives a short walk across the street from us.Sometime soon ,Mom will go down to visit her,probably Marlene will go with her,I might too.
