    Why Do Dogs Eat Mud?

I really want to understand the attraction, lol. Henry (now 9 months old) has started digging to eat mud. ?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Hmm... he could be doing it for lots of reasons! The mud could contain bodily fluids or manure. (yes, ew) A lot of dogs enjoy snacking on fertilizer. It could just be a fixation. Either way, I would discourage it, as eating mud cannot be healthy. A little bit of dirt/grass/roughage is no big deal, though.
