    Everyone loves a parade?

    Well, do ya?

I live about 15 minutes from Pasadena, where the Rose Parade is held.

Have never been to it. It's way too cold, but I may do it before I die. My dad was a parade FIEND. We went to all the holiday parades in the area. LOL, maybe that's why I am so tall today-I couldn't bear the thought of missing out from the back row!

I remember sitting on the curb in different areas of the valley for the the different parades will all my sibs.

As we got older, Dad would still trip on the parades with one caveat!

I had to record them for him, Someplace in my mom's house there are the parade tapes that were always recorded, and almost never watched!

They do a re-run of the RP here in lost angeles on some of the local stations ALL DAY LONG! SO long into the day dad would sit there, watching the fun, waiting for his copy! I could have given him a blank, for all he knew, But the smile on his face said it all!

The absolute best is that we sometimes get a flyover of the airplanes for the opneing of the parade and the Rose Bowl football games. If you forget you hear the HUGE rumbling of the jets as the pass over, then run out in your nightclothes to take in the show

One year we had the B-2 bomber along with two other fighter jets as escorts giving us out own private parade! This was for the football game. They made about 12 orbits of the area then passed RIGHT OVER THE HOUSE!

Anyway, got 1/2 hour before the show starts.....Get you treats ready and enjoy the show....

Oh, the running joke here in Cah lee fuh nee ah is the weather on Jan.1!
We joke that all the people from around the world see the brilliant weather we always have and want to move out here! I know that that isn't the truth-but it's a nice story to believe!

But it sure beats those temps in NYC in Time's Square, no?

Have a nice day and really.....enjoy the show.

LOL, I live to the left of the camera shot.......You won't see me but I will wave!

    Neat!

Richard, I was like you r Dad , when I was growing up. If there was a parade, I wanted to BE THERE!

Now I am happy to watch them on TV (local cable covers all the close ones!)

Off to watch the Rose Parade, one of my favorites!

Right now I'm watching (and taping) the Rose Parade. One of my favorite memories was when growing up in the sixties we would go down to my dad's appliance repair store (he sold TVs, too) and watch the parade on one of those new-fangled COLOR TVs! Now I'm watching it in hi-def.

So Richard, did you see the B-2 this morning? It was glorious.

For the first time in several years, I watched the parade from beginning to end. Loved it all. Watching on HGTV, and you see every float. Very few interruptions.

No, I didn't see it fly or on the tube...
I watched until I saw the people jumping in the pool on that one float and geve up....Too early and cold to swim!

I am waiting for the football game to start and the replay of the parade.
