GAH! Itunes help please

So I just got a new computer about a month ago and recently tried downloading Itunes onto my computer but it won't work at all. When I try it tells me I need to choose an application and well I don't know what that is or what to pick. Can anyone help me? I'm getting fed up with this. I want some new songs on my Ipod. Ok *end of rant* Thanks
