    Animal Abuse Problem

Well, a few days ago my sister-in-law came over to drop off my nephew so I could baby-sit him. Anyway, he brought a few of those TY Beanie Babies, and Lady took one. She kept growling at my sister-in-law as she chased her around the room (I would have done something if I wasn't helping my nephew avoid getting trampled). Finally Lady stopped running and layed down with the toy under her arm. "BAD DOG!!!", my sister-in-law shouted. Then, after tons of growling, she finally did the worst thing I have ever saw in my life. She slapped MY DOG across the face with her own bare hand. She whimpered and buried her face under her paws. I immediately sent her out of the house and banned her from ever coming back. Then I slowly took the toy from my dog and gave it back to my nephew. I had never seen something so terrible. So, what do you guys think, should people hit other people's dogs? By the way, Lady is fine now. I told her she was a good dog and patted her head.

Under no circumstance should anyone hit a pet. Permission or no permission. Your dog or someone else's dog! That is plain abuse!

Try that one at my house and you'll feel exactly what the dog feels!!!!!!!!!

No one who comes to my house is even allowed to feed my dogs, never the less discipline them.

Unless you are my breeder/rescuer girlfriend, my husband, or have been previously briefed on the proper training/feeding techniques, it's a hands off issue.

Congratulations to you for having sent your sister-in-law out of your house! Never, under any circumstances should anybody hit a dog.

To value a material thing over flesh in bone is one sadly pathetic person indeed.

THE RULE IS: If you don't live in my house and the dog isn't yours....DON'T TOUCH!! If anyone ever, ever hit my dogs....well they might just get it in return.

My husband and I are the only ones to disapline our dogs.

I do have to admit that Deisel & Phoebe have gotten a wack or 2 but its a tap on the nose....so no not really a smack! I would never do that to my animal let alone anyone else's animal. If Phoebe or Deisel takes something that doesn't belong to them all I have to do is say "Thank You" (our word for give it to me) and they will put it in your hand immediately. There is no need to hit them.

I would of kicked her out too. Everyone that enters my house get a list of rules for my dogs. No one no matter what is allowed to feed, discipline, give commands etc.. Except for a very few very close friends and relatives. I have only hit a dog once that is one that was rescued and nipped at a child for no reason (I do not put up with biting or nipping dogs especially towards children!!).
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Smacking a dog is wrong, cruel and heartless!! Maybe you should check into the way your nephew is treated at home!! Would they put up with you hitting their kid?? Probably not, so what makes them think that it is acceptable to hit your dog?!?! I think that person was on a power trip trying to prove that they were mightier than the dog, and failed...cause dogs won't hit back.
