    Agility with a Bichon

Lacey has completed the Beginner 1 Agility course. We are waiting for an opening for Beginner 2.

I met Mary Ellen and her sweet Mattie Mae at Agility. As Mattie is a bichon, I wanted to share this will all of you!

Mattie is currently 19 months; she has been in puppy kindergarten and other courses since she was 4 months old. She is now in the initial level of competition Agility.

In class, Mattie does SO well, running a course. She listens to Mary Ellen and has quite a good speed. This weekend is an Agility trial which just happens to be held at the location where we attend classes. Saturday was cold and blustery, so I did not attend. Mattie won her first Blue ribbon! She went over time, but the other dogs she was competing against at that level were as bad or worse (Mary Ellen's description!), so Mattie took first place.

I went over this morning to see Mattie do her 3rd and final run of the weekend.

So this was her competition day today, watch what happens:

Mattie was so busy blitzing, the judge finally had to call time and have her disqualified. But, as Mary Ellen says, MATTIE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!

I took a few photos before Mattie's run. These Papillons were so sweet:

Many people had these screens from Clean Run, to protect their dogs as they sat in the car in their crates, waiting their turns:

I'd not seen this type of crate before, so I took a picture of it. That is my Lacey posed in front.

And some wisteria in full bloom, which I spotted along the road and took a photo of on the drive home. (My wisteria won't be open like this for at least another week!)

Hope you enjoyed seeing a blitz!

I've tried to explain the blitz to people and they look at me like I'm crazy. No silly, it's not me who's crazy - it's the goofy bichon. I laugh every time Kirby does it. It's just so funny
