Tommy and Raven, first outing to the lake (image heavy)

Today I took Tommy and Raven over to my neighbor who has a bigger more open back yard and has invited me to bring them over any time to play ball and let them run. Hal, my neighbor, is a really kind person and has helped me with multiple difficulties I ran into during the winter, even helping me change a flat tire in -25 wind chills. He just loves the dogs, though Miss Tasha is too witchy to enjoy taking her over, she mutters and growls and barks suspiciously the whole time, as she does with all men she's not spent a lot of time around.

Anyway after playing some fetch in the yard, and me talking about how they love to swim, Hal suggested we take them down to the lake and so we did. It was rather muddy but they had a wonderful time. He used to be a photographer so we both had our cameras and were snapping away LOL.

Bad focus on this one, but Hal was jogging around the yard with Tommy and I thought it was cute.

Very nice pictures Jess! It looks like the pups had a great time. You can't go wrong with good neighbors like Hal. Oh and give Tasha a hug from me will ya, I have a pup who's a bit 'witchy' too.

Love them! I'm so glad you have a good neighbor. They can be very valuable, besides having a friend. Hopefully, sweet Tasha will come around and warm up to Hal, also. Raven looks just beautiful in that first pic. I love the ones of Raven and Tommy playing. My favorite of Tommy is the head shot at the end when he's all wet. Great pics! Nice to hear from you again.

Aw, Hal looks like a sweetheart. It probably made his week to have you guys over for a play day. Tommy and Raven really look beautiful and like they had a lot of fun! Hug all three of your pretties for us here in Texas. xoxoxo Jess.

These pictures are spectacular, Jess. What a delightful day the dogs had. How nice of you to take Hal up on his offer. I make the same invitation to some of the neighbors doing *walkies* with their dogs, but no one ever takes me up on it.

The only complaint I have here - and it's a big one - is with another photographer right there at hand, how come we didn't get a few of you with the T and R? Maybe Hal can help out in that respect next time. Okay????

Of course I missed seeing Tasha but maybe she would do okay one on one with you and Hal. Every time I see how wonderfully Raven is doing, I have to say another prayer of gratitude for her complete recovery.

Wonderful pictures, Jess!!! They both look so fantastic as always. Not only do I love Tommy and Raven, I'm also loving Hal!! What a great guy-I don't find too many of them these days. I'm thrilled you have such a nice neighbor. You deserve nothing but nice people in your life.

Please give those two beauties, and Tasha, some kisses from me.

Great pictures, it looks like the kids definitely had a good time. It's nice to hear that you have a neighbor you can depend on.
Maybe we can get a thread of just (well okay not just, but mostly?) pretty Tasha pictures.

Thank you so much for all your kind words. Tasha tends to warm up to women pretty well but it is more difficult with men. She went years barking and snarling and never warmed up to one of my ex's brothers, because he was always staring right at her and trying to coax her to him. You have to ignore her completely. Also once you have sat around in the house watching TV or having a meal, and/or gone on walks with us, she starts seeing you as part of the pack and becomes more trusting too.

Here is a picture of Tasha giving my mom a kiss at Christmas. My mom she loves now, my stepfather she has warmed up to a lot though still barks at him when he first arrives

And Hal has been wonderful. He also lives by himself and is divorced so I think we kind of have a camaraderie in that way. He's always so pleased to chat and hang out and play with the dogs.

I haven't seen the photos he got. If my office had been less of a disaster area I might have invited him to bring his camera in so I could download them LOL. I'll have to see about what he ended up getting shots of.

And, Rachel, not a day goes by I don't think of what a miracle my little blackbird is. I have always taken joy in watching my dogs romp and play, but watching her it is especially dear to me. It was April 11, 2007, a year ago, when I received the call from my vet that she had malignant oral cancer and I felt hope and faith dwindle in my heart, only to be restored once again by a brave happy little black shelter pup, a wonderful vet, and most certainly my dear PT friends who rallied to me with prayers and support that still brings me to tears to think of.
