Slater Park - where I walk the dogs photo heavy

I take the dogs to Slater Park in Pawtucket RI about twice a week. This city park is quite large, we are only using one walking area for now to get used to it. We walk along the bike path, with cyclists, roller bladers, folks with strollers, and other dog walkers.

We walk about 1.5 miles to the end, and then turn back for the car. Takes us about 45 minutes unless Ozzy doesn't get tired, and walks the entire way. In which case it takes us an hour and 50 minutes.

This section we use goes along Ten Mile River.

Lacey and Marlin like to lead the way.

All winter long, there have been many ducks near shore. We often saw folks feeding them. The dogs ignored the ducks, and the ducks weren't about to lose out on a free meal because of a few dogs. But the day I take my camera: no ducks! We did see lots of swans further out and feeding.

    More photos coming right up!

At one point you walk under a train tracks. I've been told by other people that for years that underpass was full of graffiti. Last summer, the middle school art class painted it. I couldn't get all of one side in one shot, so I had to use 2 pictures per side.

    Other side:

It is a peaceful place to walk, yet always busy. There is another bike path in my city, but I worry as I am often the only one out there. So I prefer this one.

And I stopped someone and asked her to take pictures of us. Ozzy was walking so my pup pouch is empty; and he is hidden behind Sugar.

    That's all!

What a beautiful place! I'm jealous. And that underpass is really pretty now. I hope no one puts more graffiti on it. Looks like you had a great time.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

That park looks like a really nice place. It looks like you have your hands full with leashes and pups everywhere!

Great place to walk! I used to to take Star & Sherman to one that was similar back in Findlay, so peaceful. It must be quite a sight to see you walking your four little snowballs!
