A home has a heart, that’s good for a start,
But a kitchen needs a cat….
Asleep where I sat.

I lose my place at the table and my meal-
I could skip a plate, it’s not a big deal.
My sous chef’s come to relax in my place
My kitchen’s big, I’ll find another space.

A companion during recipes, burnt and done well.
Of his cooking talents, he’ll never tell.
His inspecting skills are really up to par.
He inspects every bag that comes from the car.

Veggies, fruits, cans and meats
He always finds his favorite treats..
Head plunged deep into sacks-
I only see rear legs and his back!

I open cupboards to assemble my stuff.
One sleeping eye opens, it’s just enough-
Seconds later, I’ve just turned around,
There’s pots and pans hitting the ground.

The last thing I see is cat arse and his tail
Destruction of the kitchen, left in his trail.
But he’s a smart cat, I say without haste!
Of my cooking, he’s never had a taste!

Beef jerky, sugar from cookies, corn bread crumbs
Salt from crackers - this feline ain’t dumb!
Pork rinds, chips and spicy Cheetos
Heaven for this cat is the taste of my FRITOS!

(Why bother with the smell of his feet-
When he can get the taste of the real treat!)
His treats are tuna, both watered and the oiled.
To open his own can? No way, he is spoiled!

The Big Attraction At The Found Paradise Hotel Is Cheez Whiz On Toast , With Butter!!
There Are Always Tiny Little Noses Poking In, Or In The Case Of Scrappy 2 Or Tubster Panther A Plop Onthe Floor, Which They Know Means The Sandwhich Broken Into Pieces.

Richard, I think you were a cat in a past life, you know them so well!

Dad’s gone a shoppin’, I know I’ll get treats
Give me a minute to get off my seat!
I know there here some where, don’t mean to nag
Don’t bother dad, I will check the bags!

A bag of treats, some select brands.
I’d open the pack, If I only had hands.
A gentle tug on the edge of the sack-
With my sharp teeth, I’ll soon have a snack!

Dad’s stocking shelves, he’s got thumbs,
I’ll wait for his help, I ain’t that dumb.
His priorities are straight, I’m snacking now!
Fish flavored treats, so tasty, so wow!

He’s starting to prep, he’s making dinner,
I know my dad, he’ll cook up a winner!
Kibble for me, meatballs and rice!
For dessert he’ll bake something nice!

I’ll sit on the floor, assisting the cook-
Stay with the recipe! I give him the look!
Chop and cut, mix and toil-
Look out stupid, the pot’s gonna boil!

Are you making a cake? Sound really yummy!
I know I’ll get crumbs-I ain’t no dummy….
