    Opinion(s) on white water rafting.

So, this weekend, Mike and I figured out what to do for this summer, as a getaway weekend with our friends, and we came to conclusion of white water rafting in West Virginia. We all have never done this kind of sport, and we are excited about it, because it is something different, and it's the outdoors.

Have you done it? Did you like it? Worth the $? Give me your input.

    Thanks!
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

Been there, Done that! LOVED IT!

Rachel, Its been a long time since I went. My entire family went and we just had a blast. We did a two day trip. I don't really know how things are now. We went with a private tour guide. He was some guy that my dad knew who did it on his own. It was the best time ever. The whole family still talks about it and we always talk about going again but have just never gotten around to it. I think that if you find a good company and get a fun and excellent tour guide that it would be worth every penny

Oooo. I went WWR in West Virginia a few years back. DEFINITELY a neat experience and I'd love to do it again someday. Extremely memorable and all around a lot of fun. I say do it, I was scared out of my mind, but it was well worth it!

I went white water rafting once, and it was a BLAST. I highly recommend it!

A group of friends and I go every year!
Just yesterday we went to the Outdoorsmen show at the IX center and booked our trip for this year!

There are several outfitters you can go with and they all offer just about the same package deal for a 1 day rafting trip on the Lower New River.
Prices are around $100 - $120 and you get:

*2 nights of camping (you can bring your tent or you can pay more money and rent a cabin)
    *Breakfast the morning of rafting
*Lunch on the river half way through your rafting trip.
    *Dinner after rafting.
Some places even give you FREE beer after you raft!

Here are a few you can check out:

We went with Rivermen last year and are again this year. THEY ROCK!!!!

The first time I went (back in or around 2002) our raft flipped and I was stuck under it and almost drowned. It took me 5 years to get the courage up to go back (just last Spring) and I'm glad I did!
    It's so much fun!
    I'm going back again!
