Mike is at the Rainbow Bridge

Please say a prayer for one of my colony babies, Mike, who went to the Rainbow Bridge a little while ago. Mike was one of my feral babies that would sometimes allow me to pet him. It has been slow going for me to fix this colony and as males go, he was a tom and wouldn't always be around. He showed up one day, looking as if he had a cold, but didn't. He was very hard for me to catch and I finally got him today and took him to the emergency vet. They felt he either had a nasal cancer or a fungal infection and it was eating away his bone causing him pain. The decision was made to allow him to go the Rainbow Bridge and I was with him. I am thankful that I was and he didn't crawl off to die or a wild critter get him. I felt when I caught him it was something more than a cold or abscess which I would have paid for treatment. I know all can't be saved, and he was loved, but it so frustrating at times. Rest in peace my baby Mike. Play happily with all the kitties at Rainbow Bridge. Know that I loved you and will miss my you.

    RIP Mike.
At least he knew love, if even from afar and for a short time.
That is a wonderful thing that you were there with him for his trip to the bridge.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Awe... poor Mike. At least he knew that someone loved and cared for him and that he was allowed to end his suffering and pain. Bless you for what you did for him.

That is a very sad event, and I only hope he wasn't in pain with it. Play hard at the Bridge Mike, there is plenty of fun awaiting you

Mike knew where to go in his last moments on earth. Wisely, instead of crawling off somewhere, he went to you so that you could end his suffering because you had been so kind to him in the past. Now he's resting before he begins his good life at the Bridge. RIP, sweet Mike and peace to you.
    Blessings,
    Mary

RIP, Mike. You found a special person to help you out now and then. When you needed a pet you allowed that. And when you didn't need a pet, you just looked on from afar. Worked your way into a heart and that is so special.

I'm glad he knew you, and that you were able to be with him at the end. Thank you for all you do with the ferals and for Mike.
