For the first time in my life....

I went and registered and then voted!! And now I am addicted to listening to the radio as the results are coming in.

Congratulations. As a New Hampshire resident, your vote is MOSt coveted! I registered to vote when I turned 18, and have voted in every predisential election (and most others as well) since then, but as a Massachusetts voter, my state's delegates are a foregone conclusion!

Good Girl! The first thing I did on my 21st birthday (before it was changed to 18 in Pa) was register to vote and I never, ever have missed a vote, whether it local, state or national. I think it's an honor! There's nothing worse than a mouthy zealot whose never pulled a lever!

Good for you, Anna. I think it is not only a right, but a priveledge to vote. I cast my first official vote as an 18 year old in 1980 in the Presidential election. And my candidate won!

My husband and I try and go and vote together. I think it is a very romantic thing to do!

I voted in my first election in 1972...unfortunately the guy I voted for won too...

Good for you! Like others have said here, voting is a privilege. I have voted in every election since I turned 18 - the laws had just changed before that. Also like others have said, if you don't vote, you don't have a right to mouth off that things aren't going your way - we do have a say and every vote counts, except for maybe in Florida

    Good for you!

I always found it SO very sad that people take that right, priviledge and duty for granted here. Especially when so many people the world over have died, and will die, to try and gain it.

Plus, now you have a valid license to complain!
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
