What did you do for Sweetest Day? (pictures included)

Mike came down for the weekend on Friday night. I was very excited to see him, because we hadn't seen each other in two weeks.

On Saturday morning, when we woke up; he smiled at me and cuddled. He signed ASL to me, in ABC's, saying "Happy Sweetest Day" and I thought it was nice of him to do that, which he didn't really have to! It was just so nice to wake up next to him and just smile at each other and little kisses. We watched Ohio State win the game against Michigan State, but saw the Tribe lose to the Sox. Boo.

Today, we went to this park called "Park of Roses" here in Columbus. I have included pictures.

After that, we went to have lunch at this bar & saloon called Ugly Tuna's. Very good memories there! It was where we first hung out and had our first date. We laughed over how I lost my earring under the table by accident, and how we had our first picture of us together taken. We talked about our one-year being together coming up, and we both want to go back to Ugly Tuna's and have our picture taken at the same table we sat that night. We may consider on going to the rodeo if it is around the time he comes down. It was a really good time, and a wonderful weekend! I was sad to say goodbye to him this afternoon. I think the next time we will see each other is Thanksgiving.

Anyways, what did you do? =)

Park of Roses:

all the roses there smelled great.. it was as if we were walking through "air freshener"

Aw, you guys are so cute together. I remember how it felt at the beginning of a relationship. Now I just feel like an old married lady, and we aren't even married. LOL
Yesterday we just spent the day together. Never even left the house. That was enough for me.

I was up in Cadillac, MI watching MSU lose.

Seriously, we didn't do anything special for Sweetest Day. Andy didn't even know.

What's "Sweetest Day?" When was it? I have no clue what it is.

It's not really a big deal; it is a non-holiday created by Hallmark. It's just a "special day" for couples to express feelings or be romantic to each other; kind of like Valentine's Day. I wasn't really expecting anything out of it, I forgot about it until Mike mentioned it. I actually forgot to give him the card yesterday.. but luckily I remembered to give to him before he left to drive home!

We don't need a holiday to tell each other how much we mean to each other or to do romantic stuff

Countrywolf, it looks like a gorgeous day for a trip to such a nice park.!

I celebrated Sweetest Day by washing my car, because it was a nice day. :-|

We do nothing. I arrived in Michigan many years ago, and someone mentioned Sweetest Day. I had never heard of it - guess it must be a mid-west thing.

I finally figured out it's simply a day invented by someone in order to sell cards and candy and flowers.
