    Oh, fun - not.

Tomorrow the council I rent from begins the upgrading of my central-heating, which is nice, but it means they need access to the whole house. So all doors open, workers in and out, meanwhile I have to keep my dog and cat safe, dog from not running off through the open gates, cat also from not running off and to also keep her from being too scared.

I've arranged with them to leave my bedroom until last so I can keep Bob and Ebbs out of the way. I plan to put Ebby cat in the dog's crate which I've moved up there and keep Bob on a leash in case someone opens the door. Once they have finished the other bedroom I can move Bob and Ebbs in there which it'll be a little better because it's a much bigger room.
Going to be a stressful and noisy (Bob barking) few days for us all. Wish us luck.

    Mum, where my crate gone?

He loves the crate, it's his den.

Oh you poor things! All that upheaval. I hope it all goes well Chris. You should all come up and see me for a few days - wouldn't that be fun?

It will be great when it's done.

Oh Bob.. it will be okay. It will just be one day of crazyness with the cat in your crate. It will be over before you know it!

Bob can come and stay with me while the work goes on (and not my fault if I forget to send him back!)

I always hate to have a lot of workers running in and out of my house
even if it's for improvements being made.Hope this all goes smoothly and
quickly for you. Hang in there Bob & Ebby. ((( Hugs)))

Oh Bob, you wouldn't want to know why the crate is gone, but it will all be over soon! And then, you and Ebby will surely get extra treats.

Chris, I hope it goes smoohtly. I think your plan is excellent!

    Thanks Anna & Randi.

Well, day one is over and it hasn't been too bad. Bob did bark a lot but there were lots of quiet times too. In fact given the length of time, 7.45am until 4.45pm, he was very good.I put Ebby in the crate and tied Bob to it.

    Ebbys 'apartment' this morning.

    and this evening.

I think she's saying 'what is all that stuff doing in my room!'

They will be back tomorrow to, hopefully, finish off the heating. When the guy will be here to put in the new fire surround I don't know.
Anyhow, it's camping out in the living room for Ebbs, Bob and me tomorrow, which maybe marginally better because it's a lot bigger room.

p.s. why is it that tonight, given that I have no heating, is the coldest for quite a while? No hot water either, boiling it up on the stove and in the kettle to use for washing pots and oneself brings back many memories.

Watching Bob in the video being such a good boy. The sounds in the
background remind me of the few days this summer when I had the house
re-shingled & new siding put on. It was very noisy & I'm so glad it's all done
now. I do hope they finish up quickly for you.

I've been thinking about you Chris. I don't know about you, but we had a touch of frost last night. How has the work gone today?
