    The Nike Air Native shoe

I heard about this on news radio last night. I think it's neat that they are going to use the proceeds to benefit programs for Native American kids.

    -----
Nike today unveiled the Nike Air Native N7, a unique athletic performance shoe designed specifically for Native Americans. This shoe is built on a new last created to address the specific fit and width requirements for the Native American foot. The result is a true Native fitting, performance product.

The Nike Air Native N7 shoe marks another milestone in Nike's long-standing commitment to Native American communities. Profits from the sale of the Nike Air Native N7 will support "Let Me Play" programs on Native American lands that leverage sport to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

The Nike Air Native N7 shoe also embraces Nike's Considered design ethos, where details in the development and design of the shoe are geared to deliver sustainable innovation and reduce waste, without compromising product performance. The Considered design ethos also honors the traditional Native American Seventh Generation philosophy, an approach that respects the impact of decisions made today on seven generations. The shoe's design draws inspiration directly from Native American culture.

I kind of wish it was also being sold outside of the tribal lands... good way to being in some outside moolah. Not every N.A. is with a tribe after all.

Still, i thought it was rather neat what Nike did.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.

I'm sure a resourceful individual could get a pair of these.

I thought it was interesting about the difference in the foot between Native Americans and other folks.

Either way, I think it's great that someone is helping Americans in America for a change.

Hey, That is just like all the money that NIKE gave to the Mexicans when they sold the Air Huarache*!

    NOT!

Why do they have to sell the shoes and donate the proceeds?

Give the shoes the the Amerinds they are targeted for and toss in some money.

Then worry about the poor people that sew up the shoes in Indonesia for Nike for a few bucks a day.

    --------------

It's noble in concept. But why sell them to the Amerinds?

    --------------

Why not make the Air Huarache with a pointed toe, so us Mexicans can climb that border fence faster?

    * a huarache (wahr ah chey) is a mexican sandal. It usually has a woven leather upper and the sole is made from old tires.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.

Thanks, dukedogsmom! I wonder if Nike will find that there are people other than Native Americans who would exercise more if they could wear that type of shoe - it's built super wide without a lot of seams, that would be good for people with diabetes who don't need rubbing on their feet.
