Kodi (1990-2007) *pic on #10*

The time has finally come that my mom had to put her Min Pin Kodi to sleep. He was born on February 18, 1990 and went to the bridge on September 23, 2007.
We were lucky enough to enjoy Kodi for 17 LONG years. When my sister brought him home all those years ago, everyone in the family just fell in love with him. Even my Aunt who ended up with Kodi's sister. He was so tiny but very ferocious. We would put his head in our hands and gently shake and he'd growl like he was going to tear your hand off.
My nieces, ages 16 and 13, have grown up with Kodi. Although as he got older he would just go and hide when they would come over to Grandma's house.
When Taz and I lived at home for a couple of years they were buddies. They would always play together and Taz was about the same size as him.

Kodi (known as Walter by my father...don't ask) loved to sleep under blankets ALL the time.
This post is all over the place, because I just can't get my thoughts straight. I'm sorry.

Over the years Kodi became basically completely blind and deaf. It would bring tears to my eyes just to see him try to make his way outside to go potty.
My mom couldn't bring herself to take him to the vet. I offered many times to take him for her, but she refused. Apparently, over the past week he got worse and was running into things and getting scared of shadows. My mom asked my niece to take her to the vet.
The thing that makes me happy is that my mom held him while they gave him the injection. She had told my dad that she didn't want to be there when it was done. But of anyone in the family, I am glad she was there with him on this final trip.

I believe I have some pictures of him when he was a puppy and some more recent ones as well. While I am stuck at my brothers house right now, I'll have to wait until I get home later this week to post pictures of him.

We will miss you but you are now a happy dog running around up at the bridge with all the other PT pups.

So sorry for your loss. Kodi is up at the bridge with his health & vision restored, watching over his family now. He sounds dearly loved.

Thank You for bringing such love to everyone for 17 years, Kodi! You did an amazing job here on earth, but you were needed as a new angel so you could be young and healthy again! Caring hugs to everyone for your loss.

Wow what a wonderful life Kodi(Walter) had, 17 years of getting love and giving it right back. He is now able to see and is no longer scarred of shadows, he can also hear all the sweet sounds at the Rainbow Bridge. Rest in peace little fella.

Kodi, you certainly were blessed and a lucky min pin to have 17 years with a great family. Not many can say that! Hugs to the families, and RIP sweetie.

Thank you all for your kind words. I went over to my moms today and it was very weird for Kodi not to be there.

I can't even talk to my mom about him without her crying still. And when my mom cries.....I cry.

Anyway, I promised some pictures, but I need to find the puppy pics I have of him and scan them into my computer. So all I have is a picture of him from within the past year. Hopefully someday I will get some puppy pics of him on here.

oh kodi.. I knew the time was coming for you..

I remember the last morning I was there, I sat down in his "room" with him in that red blanket, told him "I know you can't see or hear me but anyway, it was nice meeting you and I know I won't see you next time but know I loved you too and will always remember you. take it easy, and we'll miss you!" then gave him some handhugs.. it was hard to hug him, that little old dear guy.

even though I see him so scared of shadows and flashes, it was still good to see him, enjoyed watching him going around the house, following his beloved mother - all the time - he lived for seventeen years! he was so cute. sigh. we all loved him. crayola had a lot of respect for him too.

hugs to you, and especially your mother for me please - you all will be in my thoughts. sleep softly sweet kodi... run free now!

oh and cindy, I believe I left some (in memory of) pictures and videos of kodi on your computer (or mother's computer I don't recall), just so you know feel free to use any of them.

Thank you Gina. Your memories brought tears to my eyes again.

I will let my mom know, in a couple days...don't want her to cry everyday, even though she might be anyway.
I know there are some pictures of him here on my computer, but I don't believe any videos. I'll check again, and I'll check my mom's computer next time I'm up there.
Thank you for giving me permission to use them. You always take much better pics than me.

You know Io left me after a very short time I still cry I just want to say your Mom is in my prayers.......................some pets losses hurt and some are agony but we miss them all.
