I'm making this thread tonight as I don't know if I'll have a chance to tomorrow. Things are very crazy for me right now as I am preparing to move next week to Illinois. But I wanted to make a birthday thread as my little blackbird is turning 1 tomorrow. I did not get her until December last year, but on Sept 6, 2006, my little happy Raven was born. A few months ago, I did not even know if she would live to see her first birthday, after she was diagnosed with malignant oral cancer. Thanks to the unending prayers and amazing generosity of Pet Talkers, Raven was able to have the cancer successfully removed, and against grim odds, it never came back. Oral cancer is one of the most aggressive cancers and all too often fatal. We've been through so much already in the past 9 months, my little blackbird and I. She has helped put a salve on my broken heart during a divorce. She has given me inspiration and hope as she battled cancer and won. She helped show me how many people really do care about me and are there for me in my darkest hour. I wish I could throw her a doggy party, take her to the dog park for a couple hours or out hiking. But she will receive lots and lots of love, as always. Happy birthday vivid, happy Raven!
