    Foster babies .... again.

A few mornings ago I received a phone call from our VERY HIGH KILL animal control. I was half asleep, but they said that a woman had brought in a litter of 4 week old kittens that would immediately be PTS if she left them there. They were filthy dirty, full of fleas and screaming to eat! How could I possibly turn them away?

I gave the woman directions to my house and quickly threw on some clothes. As soon as they arrived, I ran to Petsmart and got some KMR. After a quick belly-filling, they each got a much needed BATH! They cleaned up really well and they were sooooooo happy to have food in their bellies!

Yesterday when I went to my vets office to get an antibiotic and some Viralys for Daxter's URI, I found out that one of the receptionists there is the one who gave out my name and number to the animal control. I had wondered how they called me, just figured they still had my name in their system from all the kitties I had pulled there in the past. Anyway, she said that she figured if anyone could save them, it was me. That was a nice compliment, or at least a cover so I wouldn't get mad for her giving out my name and number!

Ok, enough gabbing ... here they are:

They are now about 5 weeks old.

Thank you for taking such good care of these widdle ones.

Oh Kim, how cute!!! I wondered if you could make it through a kitten season without taking on some babies.

They are adorable and if I wasn't already way over my limit I would be coming to get one of the last two boys. Especially that gray and white one.

So are you going to find homes for them or does the shelter take them back when they are old enough?

AWWWWWW!!!! They're all so adorable!!! I'm so glad that you were able to take them in and give them the care that they deserve. I wonder how many more times you'll receive another phone call like this one.

Yes, Debbie, she does know me too well! I had forgotten how much work little ones this small are, but we have gotten it down to a good routine now ... so not too bad!

For whoever asked, I will be finding them homes and hopefully my vet receptionist will help!

    Thanks for the support!

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
