Where to get a scantuary/rescue license!! NEED IT NOW!!!

Long story short... Chad made up a BS story about Axle & now they may try to take him away from me(Chad said Axle tried to attack him)... They are gonna call me back in a few days with their offer & she hopes I can get a license or something in the mean time!

I'm in Mississauga/Ontario/Canada... & have a Common Snapping Turtle.. had him for 8yrs (since he was a couple days old)...

PLEASE help me findout what I need to do to get a license... I Do NOT trust these places, as I have been told over & over, that the animal will be accepted & then destroyed later because of what it is.

I'm already collecting the studies that hes been involved in, & I'm collecting photos of him & his progress.

I'm also getting copies of the law & GAH!!!... I will never forgive Chad for this EVER!!! Axle did no harm to anyone & never has!! If I loose Axle because of this BS story I will create a WW3 of pure hell!!!

I am extreamly moody so please reply with care, as I may snap when I shouldn't. Axle has been my life & I've always wanted a better understanding for his species!!

Not trying to upset you, but I don't think you can get a sanctuary/rescue liscene without a place of residence and address for such sanctuary. I don't live in Canada so I don't know, but I also don't think it's a quick process of something you could get in a day. You'd need to have a valid place to have a rescue at.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

How about this: Call a place that already rescues reptiles...or call a vet that treats them.

They will have some kind of license...and maybe work out a way to "surrender" Axle so that you can get him back in the future.

Also, tell them about your situation, and they might know a way to get around this.

    HUGS!

Maybe you should train Axle to attack Chad...where it'll turn him into a soprano!

Prayers headed your way and to the professionals that will help you!

Ummm... I looked up vets & rescue groups, but they are all busy due to so many people calling in about finding baby birds, so I never get through to anyone... I left 3 messages so far... still lookin gup more groups & such.

good to know... I was surfing all over the net (I had no idea what I was looking for).. I stumbled upon some law stuff & found a number... I called them & its been very annoying!

The number is 705-755-1373 (Wildlife Laws).. that lady passed me off to a guy named Peter, who passed me back to the lady

So the lady said she'll get a hold of whoever I need to talk to & she'll give them my number.. If I don't hear from her by 2pm, I'll be calling back as I don't have the time to play the waiting game.

Oh i don't even know this Chad personally and i can honestly say i .... dislike him very VERY much!

Wishing you the best of luck with Axle! (I almost said " best of luck with your snapper, but i recently found out here in the states that comment could have been taken in a VERY lewd way. Yeash... people need to get lives.)

If you want i can try and dig in some archives. A few months ago a guy a few miles from me in Bay County, MI made headlines when his 6 ft alligator escaped and was found in a ditch. (In MI it's against the law to have any predatory animal with out about a zillion permits and degrees.) Rather than let it be destroyed some reptile agency in the area was able to step in and contact a refuge in the south. The alligator will live out the rest of it's life down there. (Normally transports out of state are prohibited also, but strings were pulled.) If i could find the name of the group maybe you could contact them and see if they have any Can. contacts.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.
