Talk About Taking Care of Their Ferals!

This was forwarded to me from a fellow worker who is on vacation there. Boy am I impressed!

"This is north jetty at Gold Beach Oregon. The local folks have set up this little town of houses for the town's stray cats. There weren't any out this afternoon when we took this but I guess quite a few cats live there. The do have a program to fix the cats so they don't have more kittens."

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

    Wonderful!

I wish the city of Denver would allow this...it would keep the strays more in one area, and it would be easier to trap and neuter them! I was thinking of that poor gal (Cats in Denver...can't recall her name offhand) who was being called a crazy cat lady by the city!

Something like this really stands out!

That is so cute and a great idea. I too wish other places would adopt this thinking.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

That is so cool!!! I wish other towns and states would follow suit and allow the strays to be cared for, rather than deem them a nuisance. Afterall, irresponsible humans are the reason why they became feral.

That is really great!! And so cute too. Wonderful to see they care about the kitties, just wish it would be allowed everywhere. Perhaps if people see this picture, others will do the same.

What a wonderful way to show their love to the ferals! I wish more cities would adopt sucha program! I am sure that some high school shop class (so they still have shop classes??!! ) or senior citizen center could take this idea and make houses!

When I come back, if I come back as a feral cat, I want to live THERE!

Wonderful! If only that idea would begin to catch on more...

I know you have a 'house' in your park, but I can't remember who or how you got it......any chance they can make another - or few more for the park???!!!

WOW!!!! That is awesome. What adorable cat houses and such kindhearted people to do this for their strays.

I would love it, if this caught on throughout the world.
