A lesson in Italian culture..Taught by Sassy

Sassy wanted to teach everyone about a very special horse race coming up in the country of Italy. This race is called "The Palio". It takes place in Siena, Italy. This city is absolutely beautiful and very close to my heart. I LOVE it there! Anyway, it takes place in July and September, twice a year. Different sections of the city have their own flag/banner which goes on a horse and they race. I nor Sassy don't exactly know the point, but anyway I just found it cool. While in Siena I bought a banner that I thought looked neat and since the first Palio race is coming up I decided to take a photoshoot of Sassy for the occasion with the flag.

She wasn't exactly happy about it. But then again, when is she ever happy.

    Piccys:

"Ok this is the flag mom bought...Now where's the goodie?"

    "Did you just say G-O-O-D-I-E?"

"No, I WILL LAY down on the flag UNTIL you give me the freakin' goodie!"

    Growling at me.

"OKAY, Pettalk look at the stupid flag, isn't it pretty? OK, now can I have the darn treats?!"
(By this time she had gotten about 4 already! That's all she was interested in)

Just some random shots I took today of Sas in my room.

"Oh a new computer chair, eh?"

    "Let's try it out"

    "Mom I definately approve!"

    That's all!

Sassy is quite correct - most Italians I know would contend that a huge part of Italian culture is the food - so hand over the treats!

Glad to see Sassy is hard at work, first as official flag bearer, then as official chair tester. She is delightful!

Here is a link for more about the race, including some photos (this is PT, so I HAD to find one with pics!)
