    Stuart's office :) pics...

Some pics from where my hubby is working for the next few months.

His summer home. He took our camper and Blackie the truck. He could stay in a wall tent with the other staff, but he wanted his own space. Since he's the boss of many of the workers, he didn't really want to live with them too! Plus Muskwa is more comfy in the camper. Muskwa is apparently being a very good boy out at camp. There are other dogs to play with, rabbits to chase and unlimited digging spots. It's a mine site so digging is encouraged! A tired husky is a good husky!

The first big project was building a bridge so that the other workers and big equipment could get in safely. Bridge had to built without disturbing the creek below!

A view from the "office". Stuart is the maintenence manager of the entire property, which covers close to 20 square miles of land!

As close as we get to a sunset this time of year. Taken at about 11:30 pm.

    wow!

Home Sweet Home ... be it ever so Humble!

He musta furgot to pack the Front Steps ... gotta *watch* that FIRST Step in the morning!
What days does the Maid come?
    The Guard Dawg looks ever-vigilant.

    *NICE* view from the "Office".

    Just how "primitive" is it?
    * Any "running" water - as in running IN a Pipe, not running in the Creek?
    * Any HOT water?
    * Does the potty *flush* ... or is it the outy-house style?
    * Is there a Kitchen & Dining Room ... or a chuck wagon and cookin fire?

Hope The Boy doesn't regress back to a Cave Man before he returns to civilization!

No, no running water. They have a couple holding tanks, one at the "shower tent" and one at the cook shack. Water is pumped from the creek into those for cooking and washing. I think they have set up a woodstove boiler unit in the shower tent so they have some warm water. Porta-Potties and outhouses only.

There is a camp cook who uses propane powered appliances to prepare meals. The kitchen is a wall tent and the dining room is another tent nearby! There is a generator for some electricity.

They finally found a brand of satelitte phone that gets reception there so he can call home occasionally. It's a couple bucks a minute to talk on a sat phone though so calls are rare and short!

He wasn't far from a cave man before! If Stuart had his way, we'd live like that all the time! When he used to guide in the summer/fall, he'd be completely "bushed" when he got home. Almost got ran over the first time he went to town; he had completely forgotten about traffic!

WHY have I secretly thought this all along?

I guess this means they're still *waiting* for the Maid?

Hope he adjusts to not having his sheets *ironed* every night.

LOL, I don't think that will be much of an adjustment. I have trouble convincing myself to iron my work clothes; I've never ironed a sheet in my life! It's a rare day that I actually make the bed!

I'd be afraid to cross that bridge but it's good that they're trying not to disturb the environment too much. And that is an interesting office. I think it looks like fun, actually. I love that cute Muskwa sleeping. Looks like he's got it made. What a comfy pillow to rest his head.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.

I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

That looks absolutely gorgeous! I thought my job was "rustic" lol, but nowhere near that!

I'd gladly trade my job as a road cone for that view (and the guard dawg too ha ha )
