Does anyone here have a pet Pig?

I have always wanted to a small vietamese potbelly pig. I was wondering what kind of perts they make. Are they easy to train? What do they eat? Is is hard to find a vet that can serve them?

I haven't seen piggies on there, I know they are so precious. I just don't know anything about them as pets.

    We Have PotBellies!

Our sanctuary rescues abandoned vietnamese pigs as well as rabbits. They are cute and they are very affectionate and wonderfully appreciative of anything you do for them, but contrary to popular myth they get quite large -- 100 - 120 lbs, averaging about 27 inches high. They are capable of knocking you around if you aren't paying attention to them.

VPP's need to be kept outside and have no "manners" whatsoever...burping, hacking and belching is a way of life for them. They are definitely NOT a house pet but if you live on a farm they are great. Each one has a different personality and they do enjoy interacting with people. They eat a lot (there goes your food bill) and pig poo is quite smelly......

Some love to be sprayed with a hose when it's hot, otherwise they like to roll in the mud. They do play ball but otherwise sleep a lot. There is nothing cuter than to watch them eat their dinner and see all those cute little pig tails/butts swishing very happily back and forth!

Wow, that's amazing 120 pounds. Are there any pigs that stay small enough to be a house pet?

Well then make me be the second! THere is someone who lives abotu a half hour from my home and has one as a pet, they sell them at our pet store to. THey are so cute! His pig is pretty small, I don't know if it was a baby or what but I was asking him quesitons and he said it was very easy to train him, he even uses the doggy door so he will do his buisness outside! He knew how to sit, stay, and give kisses.

I would like to own a pet pig one day too. When I was working in an RV park that allowed pets we had a few people that brought their pet pigs. They are a lot of work though; I had one lady tell me if you want a pet pig, have a child first. If that's too much for you, DON'T GET A PIG!!! LOL
