My parents took their 15 year ols wired-haired terrior to the vet because he has a stange chronic cough that will not go away. We thought that it might be heart worms. He was on a heart worm pill each month, but he decided that he hated the pills and we could not get him to eat them, he would even turn his nose up if it were in his food. He was tested and does not have heart worms, we always discovered that there is a 6 month short, which he got. His cough is linked to an irrated trachea, the dog is 15 I think he is doing pretty good.
