Ok so I didn't realize Opera was best at 2 am!

That old saying of being careful what you wish for....................as I was feeling like the world worst aunty, to all of Pennys cats, (they obviously have my phone line tapped, and excellent comp skills) 5 outta 6 decided to make sure I knew they DO LIKE ME (I feel like Sally Field).

Due to the meds I am on it is difficult for me to sleep, so I was in the upstairs guest room, watching very bad old movies, and knitting. When I heard a sound that reminded me of a dead moose being brought back to life by Dr Frankenstein. I lowered the TV...............I heard it again , I racked what is left of my brain to identify said sound................when bells went off in my head, it was the sound my cat makes when he wants to play, but with whom? (basically unless you knew the food quantity and the litterboxes being empty you would never know there are 6 extras here) I hear a chirrup............a chirrup I ask? my cats do not chirrup...........not without food, and there is no food in my hand....odd I think.....while perusing this odd sound I hear a meow....followed by another, and yet still another.......I then see a large and talking cat, stride (which is a first as slink has method and mode) over to the futon and land in lap .......MY LAP..........to which I sy well good morning sir, and he has others with him..............they have all decided that they will no longer stand for the hide and seek way of getting pet, and they want petted NOW. Even Bob who until last eve I was CERTAIN was a fig newton of my imagination as I have never known a large object to so thourughly dissappear from view...........(I believe he and Angel have dissapearing potion from Hagrid) came up to talk and get a pet, however Hagrid, Cricket and Katie wanted all the pets and BOY were they complaining about not having enough! Even the great Gatsby came out to yell at me and deign to be touched (although he made it perfectly clear that I will forever be associated with anitbiotics and am the lowest of the humaniods allowed to serve him)

Now I understand that to you all this is not news as we all have cats, but this time they did not run when daylight arrived, as a matter of fact, I am learning to type with a very large cat on my arm and keyboard, as Hagrid himself wants comp time, Katie is actually in a window and Cricket is ON the cat tree instead of IN the closet....Bob and Angel have melted into the walls again and Gatsby is back under the Futon but I must say, I like Pennys cats Idea of an April fool much better than my son switching salt and sugar! Even with no sleep (who can sleep through a 5 cat chorus ??? (angel peeked in and split )I do not regret my night of Tuxies taking me to the opera or the tabbies who sang back up!! Better acting by them than the Bella Lugosi movie I was watching anyway

If you can't sleep, at least you're surrounded by a lot of love. Better than bad old movies any day.
    Blessings,

I'm sorry that they picked such an unfortunate hour to decide to get chummy, but it's good to hear that they finally decided to reward your efforts on their behalf with a little affection! Of course it would be Hagrid (a/k/a Wide Load) who decides he wants lap time. He is a lapful indeed! I'm sure if I listen closely enough, I'll be able to hear that thunder purr of his all the way from Illinois!

I do miss those critters! It's so very good to know that they're in wonderful hands. I just hope that they don't make a habit of the 2 a.m. lovefest now that they've decided to get more friendly!

And thanks so much for posting this! It's lovely to have a little virtual visit with you and my kitty crew.

What a wonderful way for them to say "THANK YOU AUNTIE"!!!!! I bet while they were demanding attention, you were smiling! I find a kitty purr to be the most soothing thing on earth!

What a wonderful description of your 2 am purr/petfest! I hope they continue to be friendly.... just at a more reasonable hour!

Oh without a doubt, once I was rewarded, I was as guilty of keeping the cuddles coming!!
Cricket and Hagrid are both tummy rub lovers and I made sure to get as much of that in as I could! Since I couldn't sleep anyway it was a learning experience to hear the Kitty Chorus (btw NOTHING at all like the Vienna boys choir) sing and tell me their new demands now that they have decided to stay until Mom arrives!LOL
