    I saved a lobster's life!!!

So there I was, doing my usual food shopping, when I happened upon a tank with one lonely little lobster, sitting in the corner. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE lobster. But I just felt bad for him. So, I bought him, drove down to the beach, took off the elastics that keep his claws closed and let him go. I felt a sense of relief when I saw him go into the water.

Am I losing my mind??? Did I take my rescue efforts to the extreme???

AW!! That is so sweet! I don't like eating lobster or any fish at all and won't even try it, so I think it is great that you saved the little guy. Just when he was so lonely and felt hopeless, you probably made him feel great and full of hope again when he hit that beautiful sea water

No, Donna, you're not losing your mind. Anytime you can save a living creature's life is doing the humane thing. At least now he won't be anyone's dinner. Donna, you have a heart of gold towards animals. Don't ever lose that!

    Yipppeee!
    Congrats!
    You did a WONDERFUL thing!
I avoid that tank at my local grocery store at all cost!
I would love to be able to let them go, but I don't think they'd last too long in Lake Erie!

Awww!! That was so sweet of you Donna! Like Angie, unfortunately, I don't think the lobster would live long in Lake Michigan, so no releasing done here.

When we pass the tank Andy always says he wants to buy one as a pet.

HOORAY! You are a wonderful person!!!

In about 1993, my cousin and her boyfriend visited from England. I was living in Maine at the time, and took them to a seacoast lobster den; outdoor picnic tables for eating. They were HORRIFIED that I thought we might EAT a few of those lobsters in the tank. They bought the entire TANK load and we spent a half hour setting them all free in the ocean.

We had quite a gathering watching us; and the den owner was none too pleased he had no lobsters for sale for the remander of that day.

"Under the Sea...." ta da da daaaa...
They're all dancing around to celebrate the return of their lost cousin! He'll probably become a lobster legend! I wonder what he'll tell them? Good job, Donna.

Oh Donna, bless your heart. This is the kind of story that I would
