    This is the life

Here's a picture of the tank I've been taking care of over spring break. I got some plants for my pumpkinseed tank for taking care of the fish. Its 15 gallons with one betta, one bn pleco, one sae, and two dwarf frogs. Its filtered and heated. It was so nice to see a tank that is not overstocked or too tiny.

Unfortunately, the male dwarf frog died Tuesday night.
This person works at a local zoo. Yesterday she had three 5" black cichlids delivered to her that are headed to the zoo. I've been taking care of them in a large bucket. I don't think she knew the cichlids would be brought this week so she'll be surprised. I have no idea what they are. I was told black convicts, but I've never seen convicts that are all black with no stripes.

...and this is Emilio, another betta I'm taking care of. He's in a 2 gallon vase, and its hard to get pictures in a vase. He's got the longest most gorgeous fins I've ever seen on a betta and for some ungodly reason, he's healthy. Crazy with boredom, but healthy. I still feel bad for him though, the betta in the tank above has so much room to explore and seems so much happier.

Aw it is very nice! It looks like the tank is very well looked after and its good that it is not overcrowded, these days you see many tanks overcrowded.

Yea, owner's are home, no more trips across campus to feed fishies. It was fun though to tour Brotz hall everyday to turn on and off tank lights. I don't get to go through the new building too often. That red betta was just so active though, swimming around the plants and in and out of the castle. I can't imagine keeping a betta in an unheated 2 gallon tank ever again.
