    Sick Scout

I'm very upset right now. my dog,
Scout (border collie-blacklab mix, almost 9 years old) is not eating, vomitting what little she can eat (which I have to hand feed her) and just lying around not interested in anything. Usually she is lively, hungry and full-of-life, even at 9yrs.old. This is the 3rd time this has has happened in the last month. The other times it would pass in a day. It's been 2 days now.
Other symptoms: eating dirt, eating lots of grass, not peeing/pooping like she should.
Have a vet apt.for SAt. , but am really worried NOW.
Anyone out there have some ideas? Suggestions?
I tried feeding her by hand, which helped, but 2 minutes later she vomited. She is drinking a little water, but not the normal amount.

I'm alone and just went through a divorce, so i could not stand to loose my baby that has been there for me through all the hard times. She is like a child to me.

If that were my dog I'd see about getting her to a vet tonight or first thing in the morning.

When an animal vomits you shouldn't try to give them more food for at least 12 hours, and limited amounts of water. When you vomit you don't feel like eating right away do you, animals tummies get just as quesy feeling as ours do.

It doesn't surprise me that your dog isn't peeing/pooping like normal, if nothing is going in, nothing will come out. Although I'd kinda worry about possibility of a blockage of some kind also which might explain what's going on.

Don't wait until Saturday, get your dog in as soon as possible. Keep us posted and I hope everything turns out ok.

Emergency vet, ASAP. After 2 days, she is very dehydrated, and she needs medical attention.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

    Thank you

I decided she is going to the emergency vet in the morning. Very important meeting at work, but family comes first. If they don't understand, then...........

    I'm hopping for the best.

I am glad to hear that Scout will get to the Vets sooner, rather than later.
I am praying for a quick fix by the Vet can help her ASAP. Please update on
her when you find out what the problem is. ((Hugs))

Took her to the emerg. vet today. They ran a bunch of tests. Bloodwork came back fine. They did an ultrasound, but don't have the results yet- I should find out something tomorrow.
For now, she is home and on a very bland diet. I'm just glad to have her here with me.
