Random photos... I need some tips

I've been taking more pictures of random things around my house today. It was snowing out so I didn't feel like going outside. lol There not that great but I thought I'd post them anyways.

    Kind of neat

Not that good of a picture

Molli wanted to get in on the photoshoot.

I need some tips about this picture. I'm trying to get my camera to focus on the guitar strings... I thought it would be cool picture. I'm so frustrated because I can't get this picture right. What ISO should I use? Should I use the flash?

I love all the pictures but the top one of the crystals is amazing to me. I love glass and crystal and that pic is absolutely beautiful. Great idea!!

Sorry--I know nothing about photography or cameras but I know those pictures are wonderful!!

    I've been Boo'd...
    Thanks Barry!

Did you try manual focus? Looks cool though

The ISO wouldn't have much of an affect, that would effect the lighting rather than the focus.

    What camera do you use?

Well my favorite is of course Molli! (I am glad you threw that one in! ) My hubby is a photographer hobbyist although not a professional. He seems to always be ordering things for his cameras. He often walks around the house taking pictures of objects just like you do. His last tour included some of the things inside of my hutch. Who would have thought there would be dust on things inside of a hutch. The camera doesn't lie though. Your pictures are really all terrific, and oh did I say I liked the one of Molli the best?

I like the pics....if you can though I would increase the saturation just a smigeon...and if you take pictures in more light/you increase the ISO (which will increase graniness but will allow the camera to take in more light) you will be able to get more focus closer in.

I set it to that but have no idea how to use it. I think I'll have to go and look at my manual real quick.

Kay, I've got an Olympus Evolt E-500.

Ceph, I thought the more light your in the more you decrease the ISO?

    Thanks everyone!
