Woman's Shih Tzu Stolen From PetSmart

LIVONIA, Mich. -- A woman's Shih Tzu puppy was stolen from a local PetSmart over the weekend.

Jeanette Glosson and her daughter were inside a PetSmart store located on Middlebelt Road in Livonia on Saturday.

Glosson said her daughter left the 3-year-old dog, Bella, tied up outside the store's restroom and when she came out, the dog was gone.

Someone inside the store said they saw a man with a dog under his coat.

Police said they do not have a detailed description of the dog thief. An investigation is under way.

"It's an unfortunate and horrifying situation for this customer," said Jennifer Pflugelder of PetSmart media relations. "We at PetSmart, both at the local level and our corporate office, are doing whatever we can to assist the Livonia police."

Glosson said missing her dog is like missing a member of her family.

"You wonder if they're cared for, you wonder if someone is abusing her," Glosson said. "She was gone just like that. We were getting ready to come back home."

Those who have any information on the dog are being asked to contact Livonia police.
