    Miss Half Key [Pics Added!]

Just wanted to update you guys on Key's situation. I've been kind of calling her Luna. She is doing pretty good...we are doing a lot of groundwork, and working on catching her (she can be a little difficult) and also standing tied. We will eventually get to standing tied and cross tied in the barn, but she gets nervous in there. She's still trying to blow by me when I stop, but we're working on that and she's slowly getting better. If I absolutely need her to stop and stuff I'll put a shank on her and she stops fine.

The 2nd time I rode her, last Friday, she gave me some problems. She was stopping and resisting, and when we started trotting she bucked. I was having a hard time, because we were right next to the barn, and if she gets up close, there is an overhang about my head height if I'm on her, and thats where she was trying to buck. I had to call it quits because it started to downpour..I was a little upset with that because I didn't want to just get off her and let her 'win'. But today when I rode her, I made sure to ride in the arena. We played around for a while on the ground, and then I went and got on her...and she did great! She was trying to stop/resist but I would just make her circle (disengaging her hindquarters) and she would go forward for me. I loped her for the first time, and she did great, she was very calm. We did some cone weaving and stuff, and had fun!

So I'm pretty happy with her, and I'm really leaning towards going ahead and making her mine. I'll give it another 2 or so weeks of riding and then let them know. I need to get more pictures-she's already filling out pretty well, her flanks aren't sunken in quite as much.

Updated with some pictures...she looks 10x happier in these pictures. She's allowing me to catch her with ease, and likes to just stand next to me to get her neck and mane rubbed. I'm very happy with her right now. You can tell she's gained weight.

(Oh and please pardon the stain on her shoulder...I hadn't cleaned her up yet)

And one of the baby, because he's so cute. I couldn't get him to come any closer. He's QH/Percheron. He's got legs like tree trunks....he's going to be a tank.

    That's all!
