How long has the tank been set up? It sounds like its still cycling
I just did some research online and thats what it seems like it is. it was set up the end of November, and then I had it by a window and algae grew like crazy so I moved it and its been reset up since about a week ago, Im hoping this will be it and its nothing serious. Ill give it the 8 weeks that it needs to cycle and then if its still cloudy im going to get rid of the rocks and get sand see if that does the trick.

It could be cloudy if you have too many fish in the size of tank you have, or what type of fish you have. Goldfish are always messy if you have them. If its non of the above I always use what called Cycle, it is a good bacteria that you put in the tank and it gets rid of some of the bad bacteria to help keep your tank clean, clear and healthy for your fish.![]()
Carbon filtration will clear up the cloudiness quicker...
While it is cycling you need a fish in there to help....the cloudiness will not hurt the fish...do small frequent water changes....then as it settles add the other fish
It will just be a case of giving your filter medium and water time to mature and balance...i really doubt it will be any of your ornaments as it was clear prior to you putting your fish back in
Personally, when i pull my tank down (4ft) completely....my fish go back in as soon as it is filled and declorinator is put in....it is cloudy for 24 hours...then is crystal clear after that....mind you i do run 2 filters....1 carbon and one powerhead...i never cycle my tanks empty
WEll I do have a cupple Koi and a cupple goldfish. I know they are messy fish, I have one filter, im not to up on my fish technology, but the filter has an amonia(I think) filter and it has a spongie thing.. lol.
Im gonna give it a few weeks and see where it does.

What is the size of the tank.
Goldfish and koi need huge tanks and lots of filtration.
Koi get massive...they are definately pond fish, and a large pond at that, not really tank fishOriginally Posted by Sadie_Sasha
I have a 46 gallon tank.
The koi are onlky about 4 inches at the moment. It'll take a while for them to outgorw this tank. Its pretty big. but when they are big enough they will be put outside.
