    My Yellow-headed Jawfish

This guy is by far my favorite in the tank.

Part of the reason I find him so fascinating is because he digs holes in the substrate. Should a stray snail fall in his hole, he'll pick it up and set it outside the entrance. lol

With exception to when he sees the turkey baster (I spot feed him brine shrimp), he hardly ever comes fully out of his burrow. Most of the times he just peeks out. Even so, he's SUCH a people watcher and likes to keep tabs on my every movement.

He also keeps tabs on the clownfish.

Though he's relatively shy he has sooo much personality. He has me wondering why in the world I ever bothered with freshwater fish. (Don't tell Kyle, my betta, that though! )

Thanks for checking out pictures - hope you enjoyed them!

Aww! That face of his is the cutest!
The pictures are splendid.. I absolutely adore watching saltwater tanks. I know I'll end up with one someday. Actually, after I get my 55g African Cichlid tank all set up I was going to start reading up on saltwater tanks.
What size tank do you have?

    Thanks for the replies!

Average lifespan of a jawfish is like 8-10yrs I believe (same as a clownfish).

My tank is 12 gallons and is an "all in one" type set-up (brand name is Aquapod). I've had to do some modifications in order to get it to run the way I want it but I LOVE IT!

The downside to 12 gallons is that there's not much of a buffer should something go wrong. That said, I don't feel as overwhelmed with smaller tanks and am more apt to stay on top of water changes, etc., so smaller actually equals easier for me. (I had a 40gallon freshwater for yearrrs... I got to where I hated the sucker!)

I have 3 fish (2 baby clowns, the jawfish), 3 scarlet hermits, a bucketload of snails (1 turbo, ? cerith, ?? nassarius), 3 feather dusters (the big yellow/purple one, 2 itty bitty babies) and a skunk cleaner shrimp.

I'm constantly adding to my corals but thus far I have 2 ricordeas (the bumpy things in front of the featherduster), 3 mushrooms (2 red, 1 metallic blue), 2 candycane frags (red/green, neon green), xenia, and zoas (green, orange).

I'll try and get a full tank shot tomorrow.
