Seems that life/work, etc stresses have been at a peak for me lately. It is at such times I will sit down at the piano to play away some of the frustration.
Ritz has shared a certain love for music since the day I brought her home - she was so upset during the ride. I started singing "Eidelweiss" to her and she promptly calmed down and took a nap. When I would stop, she would mew again, I would sing again, calm she would be.
Last week, I was sitting at the piano. Ritz came into the room and sat on the rug facing me, getting sleepy eyed, and finally dozing off after a little "Fur Elise" (ironic title, don't you think? - )....
I stopped to leaf through the music book for another choice. Ritz awakened and meowed as if she was confused or mildly alarmed. She then got up quickly, rushed over to me, jumped up beside me on the piano bench, put one paw in on my arm and looked up at me with another quizzical ?"Meeow?"...
I don't know, I may be slipping into wishful anthropomorphism here, but I could swear she was asking for more. I played another as she curled up next to me and fell asleep.
Music does indeed have charms, and so do our sweet furkids.
