    Bird Question

I was over at a friends house the other day. Her three Quakers were out and about.

I was standing, looking at the fish tank, when all of a sudden I hear a *flapflapflapflap* and there is a little green body trying to land on my head but instead gets my shoulder. It kind of freaked me out so I shook my shirt to get the bird off of me (I didn't know it had been a bird until I turned around and saw it flying away. Also, I am referring to the bird as "it" and "the" because I do not know if it was the male or one of the females).

So, is this good or bad? Does it like me? There was no aggressiveness or anything. The bird just kind of flew over and landed on my shoulder.

Oh, I cannot wait until a bird joins my family one day.

Nothing to be worried about lol,

That bird probably just wanted to meet and greet you but instead you got a little shock from it hehe, Shiney (My lovebird) fly's to my shoulder's all the time she usualy just comes to me to relax and get a free ride around the house or to sing LOUDLY in my ears lol ... that bird ment no harm as many pet birds will do this.

The other day Shiney was on my shoulder when he flew over to my mom and freaked her out lol!!!

That bird must like you because usualy birds can be scared of strange people that they don't realy know.

I'd ask your friend, she's knows her bird. If he's not normally an aggressive bird then he was probably just coming to greet you.

I have had aggressive birds fly and attack me on more than one occasion though. I'll never forget the Red throated conure we had up for adoption at the place I used to work. We had her out on a play-gym and she flew over and landed on my shoulder and bit the crap out of my ear, it was one of the worse bites I've ever had. After we learned of her aggression my boss decided to keep her rather than adopting her out. My boss can now handle her, but she's the only one who can.

    I agree with this.
Especially since Quakers have been know to have nasty attitudes.
My sister's friend has a quaker(came from the same parrents as my quaker did, but this one is a year older) that is absolutely evil.. and eventhough my quaker is still young, he lets visitors hold him without a problem.
It completely depends on the bird.

I own a three year old male Quaker. If that bird flew to you , my thoughts are that he wanted to get to know you. Now Joey my bird, would not do that at first. He would check you out then if I bring him to you and he does not since your fear he will go to you. And probable say "gimme kiss" The only way to know if they are male or female is a dna test!
