time sure does fly!
It just seems like yesterday that we brought him home.
we got him in a "free" add in a town named Rocker
(hence the name Rocky) in December of 1996
when our basset hound was pts. normally, we don't rush
to get another dog, but my parents didn't want me and my
brother to go through the pain of losing a family member
again.
In 2002, I was working at Burger King
and I got this urgent call
from my parents saying
one of my dogs got hit by a car.
My heart sank.
I went outside and
waited for my dad
and when I got in the car,
he said that Rocky went
out of the gate to go get in the van
on the driver's side and someone
was obviously speeding or something
(it's a school zone..)
and hit Rocky.. It was a hit and run.
He was rushed by my parents to the
emergency
vet fighting for his life.
We were told he was going to be OK
after re-cooperating in the animal clinic
for 7 days.
I thanked God that night when we knew
he was going to be OK. I call him my miracle dog.
he has to be one of the best dogs I have ever had. him and my dad
are buddies and I cannot believe he is 10 already! It sure sucks when he gets old and I wish he could live forever and he's one of the reasons that I love black dogs.he's serious perfect in every way to me.
pics coming in the next post...
