When MooShoo was a baby, he did the exact same thing. How he ever contorted his body in order to do this is beyond me. But, every night after settling under the covers to sleep, all I'd hear is this sucking noise. At first it was loud. As Moo fell into a deep slumber, it would stop, meaning he was sound asleep.
He did this till he was well over 2 years old. Now I think it's because he's just too fat and can't reach.

I don't know if Sparkle actually suckled, but she was always at her own nipple - just ONE of them - for the first 4 months she lived with me. It was always red and sore-looking. Not knowing what was going on, I took her in to the vet who explained sometimes they will try to suckle on themselves. And said she would grow out of it, which she did. There really wasn't anything we could do about the sore nipple, just that having it sore would stop her doing that.

My Snoopy does it on MY tummy, and her favorite is even "higher up"

Have known of a dog who suckled his flank - the outside of his hind leg - until it was raw. If it becomes a problem, you can try a collar or bitter apple.

That's cute! Seine sucks her paw when she is very comfortable and happy in someone's lap.
