    HUSKY HIKE, Oct. 7, Ohio

Hello everydog! Time for the Husky Hike to help homeless huskies! Any dog can participate, but they do suggest med - lg. size, please, as we huskies have a notorious prey drive and no one wants "Tiny" to spark a riot! There will also be lunch (yeah!)- sometimes humans share their food, but don't count on it. Plenty of games - (perhaps Bowser will once again win the hot dog eating contest, or Star will be Queen of Musical Hoops again) Also a silent auction of cool husky stuff & other items.

Click the link Mom put in our logo for more info!
    Hope to see you there!
Here's a "group shot" of PT's finest that attended last year:

Yipppeee!!!! Finally a PT event that I can attend!!!

I haven't been to one in years!!!
Sierra and I will be there!
(Buddy would MUCH rather stay at home instead of having to worry about other dogs getting too close to his mommy )
    I Can't wait!!

    Exclamation We'll bring our Husky

We're plannin on Bringin our Husky - aka Bowser ...
but he an Dad aren't too sure about da HIKIN part.

Bowz is game fur da Hot Dawg <Munchin> Kontest, though!
He sez he's gonna try ta eat QUICKER this tyme - 'cause he dint "win"
last year - he only gots second place. Missed it by WUN Byte!

How to Find the Husky Hike?

Here's a special MapQuest link the generates driving instructions to
the Hike from any location you type in as your Starting Location. >>>

MapQuest Directions To: Husky Hike @ Royalview Picnic Area

    Click on the link then **WAIT** for the entire page to load;
Tab or mouse to the "STARTING Location" fields and type in your starting location. The "Destination" is already filled in for you. Hit "Get Directions".

You may be prompted to verify the Destination - Click on "their" version.

The closest MapQuest can do is the Intersection of Valley Parkway and Royalview Lane ...
Don't worry about the gate - it'll be open all day.
Turn (south) onto Royalview Lane and follow it to the end - a little over a mile -
and you wind up at the Royalview Picnic Area in the "Mill Stream Run Reservation"
of the Cleveland MetroParks System, in Strongsville, Ohio.

There should be a Husky or two or three runnin around.

Oh good, Phred. We were hoping you'd make it! JoJoe may sit out the hiking part, depending on how his knee is - it's been acting up. I think Anna & Roxey are planning on coming, anybody heard for sure? Amy & Ralph - sure hope you can make it - it was fun last year - beautiful time of year for a long walk in the woods! Remember everyone - cameras And extra $$ for the auction -lots of cool stuff. By the way, Phred, did you ever "collect" on that portrait you won from Amy? And it will be wonderful to finally meet Angie & Sierra!

Yes, I know... I don't get out much!

Sierra is going to be jumping out of her skin with excitment!
She'll be "Wooing" up a storm!!
I will unfortunetly be sad leaving Bud at home alone but I don't have a choice.
Hey... maybe I'll attach a picture of Buddy to Sierra's collar! This way he WILL be with us!!
    Can't wait till Saturday!!

    Thanks for the Map Phred!!

    Few questions....

    1. Do you have to pre-register, or can we just show up?
    2. What time are people getting there?

I'm hoping to come, but it would must likely just be me and pups. Ralph has rehearsal and then will probably help his dad on his garage.

Amy, click the "HERE for info" in my siggy - it takes you to the site. Scroll down to the yellow boxes and click on "print a brochure" - read the whole brochure, it tells you all the activities and events. There 's a map at the bottom of one page, and a form to print out for registration & pledges. The pre-registration is closed, but you can register that morning. The hike is at 11:30, registration begins at 9:30. Both breakfast & lunch are provided (I think that includes those who register that day too). The silent auction was fun last year - lots of interesting stuff. They will also have boxes for donated items, doesn't have to be new, just in good condition. Oh - 6' leashes only - no flexi leashes are allowed. There is also a phone number to call for info printed on the brochure.
As far as what time to get there - I don't know, we just all sort of met there last year a little before the hike. There are several tables with various items & info to browse through, so there are things to do while waiting for the hike. We will probably get there by 10:30. I'll pm you my cell # in case you want to call. Looking forward to seeing you!
