Notes: URGENT! Bebe has only days to find a home or rescue who has experience with Livestock Guard Dogs. Bebe has been at the Meadowlake and District Humane Society for a little while and she is not adapting well to the shelter environment. We at NH are trying to help Bebe out so have posted her here. Bebe needs to find a place to go in the next few days or she will be euthanzied

Bebe is a Livestock Guardian Dog of mixed breeding, she is probably not Pyrenees (no dew claws), but she may be Maremma, or Kuvasz, or a cross, and she could also be one of those two crossed with an Akbash.

Bebe is looking for a few horses to guard! She excellent with horses. Bebe has not been properly bonded with sheep or goats but wants to play with them, she is NOT aggressive towards them at all but the sheep dont want to play. She will still patrol a territory, and she will still chase off intruders, it's just that she hasn't been bonded to small livestock as a pup, and it's too late now. However horses she displays the appropriate behaviour and spent 3 weeks on a horse farm without issue. However she found the horse farm not the other way around. If anyone would like to try her with cattle, that is a possibility but we dont know.

Temperament-wise, Bebe is a SWEETHEART, she is a really lovely dog with people! Bebe is fine with most male dogs and does well by herself. She is not as good with other female dogs. .

I will see what I can do. I have a friend who loves the giant breeds and she may have a home that would fit...I will see if she has had any applicants. I will call later. We will do what we can to get her out.

Do you know if she is ok with other dogs? What is her issue anyway?

Bebe is fine with most male dogs and does well by herself. She is not as good with other female dogs.

Her issue is she cannot be a guardian for sheep, she tries to play with them (not aggressively). Either horses or cattle, or a family home.
