Don't drag him. Try keep the leash on him around the house, so he gets used to it. Then when outside, work on some basic obedience training, "Sit," "Come," and tug on the leash when you say "Come," - just keep at it, and he'll get used to it. Have you and he been to any obedience class yet? Puppy kindergarten would be a great help to you!
No I haven't thought about obediance class, that's a great idea. And thanks for the help!
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
People always told me..every puppy is recommended at least one obedience class... this gets them associated with new things. If you just got your puppy.. he might be how lizzy was 2 weeks ago.. very unsure of everything. Just take your time and encourage him to walk. We brought treats with us and when she would stop we would squat down and encourage her to come and she would. Once in a while we would give her parts of treats..we took different routes each day to get her farmiliar with all routes and she hardly stops now. We tried using the leash in the backyard to help too.
