The Proverbial Toe in the Water

As the topic says, I'm dipping my toe in, testing the waters, as it were. I realise I didn't leave on the best of terms, and I actually felt bad for simply disappearing after so many people showed their support. There are just some things that can't be fixed with a kind word, you know?

But I decided to take a chance, stick my head in the door and see if anyone even remembered me and my furkids. So much has changed. Compounded with other issues and the strain of losing both Arthur and Charlie within months of each other, my relationship with Bella fell apart. But, I move on as we so often must. She kept Anna, whom I miss dreadfully and haven't seen since last October, and I still have Chloe and the 3 wee kittens (not so "wee" anymore) and Sebastian. In the interim, we have expanded our family by one pup and a HUGE cat. My current gf has Chica, a gorgeous little pit mix who I know will win over the hearts of all you pittie lovers out there, and Ashton, the world's biggest cat! At least, he seems that way sometimes. Carrying him in after one of his great escapes, my father (who was visiting) exclaimed, "Goodness! Is that a CAT?!" We also have a foster pup who's looking for her forever home. A border collie mix named Sparky. I also thought this might be one of the best places to help find her a home.

My job has changed, too. Done with the toil at Starbucks am I! I'm now the Production Coordinator and person in charge of Marketing at a LGBT and Indy film production and distribution company. (No, it's not porn! ) We handle movies that you'd see on IFC or the Sundance CHannel. It's great. I can honestly say I love my job, even though there are days when it makes me want to pull my hair out...

Charlie's ashes sit on a shelf next to a picture of Arthur, both their collars are there too. My heart still breaks, and my girlfriend will tell you that I've never totally gotten over the guilt, but I still keep on truckin'.

And there you have it. I hope everyone is fabulous!

    Cheers!

Welcome back to Pet Talk, I'm new here, so, No , I am not familier with your story at all. But, you have suffered quite a loss, as I sensed from reading your post.

Yes, I remember you alright. I've never before or since, met anyone who
showed such cold hearted treatment of their own dog.Frankly, I don't give
a flying f*** what you do.

And that is why I left in the first place. So much for my trying to come back to a supportive and kind-hearted place.

Jadapit, I think you were here, cuz I recognise the name. But here ya go... as requested, a pic of Chica. It's probably one of my favourites of her.

Actually, she's probably almost all pit with maybe a splash of something like staffy, although she has an apple shaped head which makes her look like an oversized chihuahua. hehehe

We think he's definitely got some Coon in him. He doesn't have the hair, but he has the size and the markings.
