    Happy (belated) Gotcha Day, Willy!

Sorry this is late, Willy. Thanks for bringing so much happiness to my parents.

On June 24, 2005, it took us eight hours to drive to Seattle, Washington, from Pendleton, Oregon. We were on the right side of the sound and realized we needed to be on the left. It took us about an hour to drive to the other side as we RUSHED because we thought we were going to be late. We got there, boarded the ferry, and did tourist-y things. After the ferry stopped, we drove off and around Whidbey Island to get to Willys foster home.

The most beautiful place. Ever. Picture a big brown house right on a lake with lots of gorgeous green trees and flowers and room. Now, picture another house just for the kitties (thirty something). There is a long gate with an orange wooden cat on it. Heh.

All of a sudden, I heard a loud bark and see Willy making a mad dash at the gate. We were greeted by the ladys husband (It seemed to be more her thing than her husband.) and went inside the cat house to talk and then did some paper work (We were almost brought to tears several times because they had a few cats that looked like the one we had to send to the rb the day before).

We went outside and talked some more and played with some other pooches. Troy was just petting and petting away at that Willy man! After a while, Jean came home with her two little Doxies and we talked for a long while. We were told Willys sad tale. She was sad to see Willy go but she had no hesitations.

Willy has been with my parents for a year now and we all just love him to death. He is so funny with his barking and chomping. He has a couple of different barks. One sounds like a Bassett Hound and the other sounds Doxie (he was listed as Doxie mix on Petfinder). Willy was FIFTY pounds when we got him. He likes to sit on his butt, hoist his back feet in the air, and make one constant circle like that. Also, while doing that, he likes to chomp his mouth. He is quite the character. We believe he may be part Bassett Hound in addition to Doxie. What do you think?

Willy gives a big "ah-roo roo roo!" to you all.
